As Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) cracks down on illegal immigration and arrests criminal illegal aliens in Illinois, I am grateful to the ICE agents for coming to my home state of Wisconsin to make arrests in the capital city of Madison.
Chicago has drawn illegal aliens because of its sanctuary city status. The Windy City has been a magnet for illegal aliens. And that is why the Trump administration has launched Operation Midway Blitz in Illinois.
But Chicago is not the only city facing the burden of illegal immigration. The illegal alien population has spread far and wide, affecting Wisconsin as well.
In the state of Wisconsin, we seek peace and tranquility. Wisconsinites wish to live in safe communities. We expect and demand the enforcement of our nation’s laws so that law-abiding citizens and legal residents of the United States can enjoy a sound environment.
When I heard that ICE agents made arrests in Madison, I understood that the federal agents are taking action to make Wisconsin safe again. Of course, left-wing activists had a very different reaction. Statements from left-wing activists poured in to oppose ICE activity in the Badger State.
It is not the first time in recent weeks that federal agents conducted immigration enforcement operation in Wisconsin. Last month, in Manitowoc County, federal agents arrested 24 illegal aliens. These are individuals with suspected ties to transnational human trafficking and drug trafficking ring. Each and every operation to catch illegal aliens is going to make our state safer than before.
The presence of criminal aliens continues to pose threats to American cities. While ICE is making great progress in catching and deporting criminal illegal aliens, more and more immigration enforcement actions are needed. The federal government must utilize all necessary resources to remove criminal illegal aliens from the United States.
There may be a few loud voices of opposition to ICE. But freedom-loving Americans in all fifty states are grateful to President Trump and his administration for fulfilling the promises made to the American people. President Trump promised that his administration would deport illegal aliens, and that is exactly what the Trump administration is doing.
I thank ICE for coming to Wisconsin to make our beautiful state safe again.
