I was asked to describe a positive change in my life. And so, I will try to describe a change I made that I believe has improved my daily life.
Life is all about continuous improvement. Every day, we must try to find ways to make our lives better by making our own selves more productive. We must try to make every single day meaningful.
As I was growing up, I used to write on paper, using a pen or pencil. But with the proliferation of technology and the inflow of new electronic devices in the market, many people slowly drifted away from pen and paper and towards laptops, cellphones, and tablets. In the course of my academic life, I did try to maintain a nice balance between writing by hand and typing on a laptop. Eventually, the power of technology took over as I continued to do most of my writing on an electronic device.
My mother advised me that I must always continue with the practice of writing using pen and paper. I, too, realized that I am more productive when I write a draft of an essay or article using pen and paper, in the old-fashioned way. There is something special about sitting down with a smooth writing pad and a decent pen and writing one’s thoughts.
Therefore, I made a positive change in my life by focusing on writing the drafts of most essays and articles on paper, before typing the final version using a laptop. This change helps me maintain a wonderful balance between the original way of writing, that is, using pen and paper, and also continuing to utilize the latest technology that life in the new millennium requires.
Small changes have big impacts. That change I made has made me more productive. We must all find ways to bring positive changes in our lives.
