The rise in crime in communities across the United States affects the lives of the American people. To combat crime and to increase public safety in our neighborhoods, states, and country, we must vote for Republican candidates on the ballot.
When crime rises, we know that we need strong law enforcement presence to fight the increase in unlawful activities. Law-abiding citizens support the men and uniform in uniform who protect and serve our communities.
Recent years have revealed that there are many left-wing activists who want to defund the police. Defunding the police would mean taking away resources from law enforcement agencies. If law enforcement agencies do not have the power to combat various criminal offenses and apprehend criminals, our communities will be unsafe. Furthermore, if law enforcement agencies see their budgets cut, they will not be able to hire new officers to continue to provide excellent level of service.
Efforts to defund police departments have come from left-wing politicians. In Milwaukee, in 2020, a mayor proposed to cut 120 police officer positions. In New York, city officials voted to take away funding from the police department. Prominent Democrat lawmakers have promoted “defund the police” rhetoric, but then they also spent a lot of money on private security for their own selves.
Anti-police activists have engaged in name-calling and insults directed towards the men and women in blue. These continue to have an adverse impact on recruitment and retention of police officers. Without adequate number of law enforcement officers, our communities will not have the protection needed to keep citizens safe from criminal offenses.
Republican leaders have spoken out against the “defund the police” movement. Republican leaders continue to support law enforcement officials.
In addition to supporting local law enforcement agencies and officials, Republicans also support the officers who protect our nation’s borders and enforce our immigration laws. But many prominent left-wing Democrats want to abolish U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Crime is a major issue that voters are concerned about as we head towards November 8, 2022 – the midterm election. Criminal offenses are rising as police departments struggle to hire new officers. Voters must choose leaders who would strengthen law enforcement agencies, and not defund them. Therefore, citizens must vote for Republican leaders to restore law and order in society.
