I was thrilled to learn from news reports that a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) spacecraft has “touched” the Sun.
I have always been curious about space exploration and learning more about our universe. As I grew older, my interest in astronomy became stronger.
Few years ago, I wrote a blog post, celebrating the fact that the United States, with President Trump in the White House, prioritized space exploration. Later, in 2019, I wrote a letter to the editor, highlighting the importance of space exploration. I was also very happy to learn about the unveiling of the flag of the United States Space Force. I continue to speak about the importance of learning more about the celestial bodies in space and also alien life forms.
Space exploration requires tremendous patience, and the recent accomplishment is a perfect example of that. The Parker Solar Probe was launched in 2018 to explore the Sun by traveling close to it. Now, as we are almost at the end of 2021, we just found out that the spacecraft has flown through the upper atmosphere of the Sun, also known as the corona. This milestone will allow scientists to learn more about the Sun by studying the findings.
In 2015, NASA’s New Horizons spacecraft flew by Pluto and its moons, generating lots of excitement. NASA continues to explore Mars. There are many other accomplishments.
Recent news about NASA’s Parker Solar Probe spacecraft gives us hope that the United States can reach greater milestones in the future. We must continue to prioritize space exploration.
