The United States Space Force just unveiled its new flag. This is the first official flag of a new American military service in 72 years. The creation of the Space Force now requires the recruitment of bright and energetic Americans, who will bravely defend the country and ensure national security.
The United States is the first country to put men on the Moon. It was, as Neil Armstrong said, a “small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” Landing on the Moon truly was a tremendous success for all people on Earth.
The United States is once again showing its strength and leadership in space, by taking major steps to create a new branch of the American military.
Security threats to a nation evolve over time. The space is an increasingly important domain and our military presence is essential to protect the people and our way of life on Earth. Therefore, the creation of the Space Force is a sound step towards preparing our military to address security challenges and keep America safe.
As I stated in an article I wrote last year, there is an ongoing competition among industrialized nations to achieve new heights in the field of science and technology. the competition also includes space exploration. Last year, America celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. We must use this important anniversary to re-energize ourselves and make a strong commitment to expanding our capabilities in space. The creation of Space Force is therefore a major success.
Our country now needs courageous men and women to step up and join this brand new force. We need American brain-power and resolve to advance United States Space Force’s mission to organize, train and equip space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force.
