Over the last several weeks, I finished reading The Adventures of Tintin comic book series. I felt as if I was traveling back to my childhood days.
As I stated in an earlier post, The Adventures of Tintin played an important role in my childhood. I spent countless hours, turning the pages of the Tintin comic book series. I enjoyed each and every character, from Tintin, Captain Haddock, and Professor Calculus, to Nestor, Bianca Castafiore, and Jolyon Wagg. Of course, the activities of the detectives, Thomson and Thompson, added a great deal of humor to the stories. And one can never forget the intelligent Snowy–Tintin’s loyal dog.
The adventures take place all over the world, from North America to Asia, and many countries in between. In fact, Tintin also made a trip to the Moon!
The Adventures of Tintin comic book series is truly timeless. I enjoyed the books in 2023, as much as I loved reading about Tintin’s adventures as a young boy.
For the last few years, I have been thinking about reading the Tintin comic books again. I left many pieces from my collection of books in Bangladesh, when I departed from my country of origin to come to the United States as an immigrant.
Fortunately, I was able to get the Tintin comic books from Madison Public Library, here in Wisconsin. And that is how, I could enjoy reading the entire Tintin comic book series again.
In this day and age of technology, it is always a good idea to find time to enjoy printed copies of publications. Going through pages of a book is so much better than trying to read a document by scrolling on a screen.
In particular, when a book reminds us of our younger days, it can be powerful enough to soothe our souls and to bring joy in our lives. From the haste and hurry of present day, a good book can take us back to the calm days of our childhood.
I enjoyed reading The Adventures of Tintin, again. In the future, I may want to read the entire Tintin comic book series, all over again.
