The so-called scholar, Debapriya Bhattacharya, is rallying against the United States-Bangladesh trade deal. Keep in mind that Debapriya got his PhD degree from the failed Soviet Union.
The U.S.-Bangladesh trade deal was signed when Dr. Muhammad Yunus, a renowned economist and a Nobel Prize winner, was in charge of the government of Bangladesh. It is a win-win trade deal for the United States of America and Bangladesh.
Debapriya, whose academic and practical knowledge is not even a fraction of that which Dr. Yunus has, is opposing the trade deal.
Will Bangladesh be better off by becoming a colony of a country like Russia, or will Bangladesh be better off as a strong ally and partner of the United States?
The truth is that there are only two countries in the world that Bangladesh can trust and depend on. These two countries are the United States of America and Pakistan. But people like Debapriya would likely tell you otherwise.
