Should illegal immigrants get access to in-state tuition? The answer is “NO.”
American states must stop incentivizing illegal immigration. When in-state tuition benefits, as well as a range of taxpayer funded aid, are provided to individuals without legal status in the United States, that leads to more illegal immigration.
The four years of the Biden-Harris administration revealed the Democrats’ ironclad commitment to serving the illegal immigrant population, while disregarding the needs of the American citizens. That is why the Democrats lost the presidential election of 2024. The voters sent a strong message to the Democrat Party establishment, stating clearly that the American people want an “America First” government. And yet, we see that Democrat politicians continue to prioritize illegal immigrants.
In Florida, lawmakers have taken an excellent step to revoke a law that had provided illegal immigrants with in-state tuition at public colleges and universities. With the 2014 law now gone, individuals without legal status in America will not be able to get access to in-state tuition at public educational institutions in Florida.
Education is the foundation on which the glorious future of the United States will be built. After overcoming many challenges, the American people are optimistic about greater prosperity. Natural-born citizens, naturalized citizens, and legal immigrants are working hard to make America stronger than ever before. To ensure a brighter future for America, we must focus on those who are in the United States legally and end any and all benefits for illegal immigrants.
All American states must ensure that illegal immigrants do not get access to in-state tuition. I am glad that we finally have an administration–the Trump administration–that is putting Americans first.
