The Ukraine-Russia war would never have started, if we had bold leadership in the White House in 2022. But now that Donald J. Trump is back in office as the 47th president of the United States, I believe that he is the most capable leader to bring the Ukraine-Russian war to an end.
In a recent podcast episode, I shared my thoughts regarding the Ukraine-Russia war and President Donald J. Trump’s upcoming meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia. I am hopeful that the meeting, scheduled for August 15, will be fruitful and will create a pathway for ending the bloody war.
The fact that the meeting will take place on American soil is a sign of President Trump’s strength. The meeting could have been scheduled at a neutral location, that is neither the United States nor Russia. But the fact that the Russian president will be meeting with the American president on American soil proves that President Trump is extremely skilled in high-level negotiation.
The Ukraine-Russia war has been going on for years now, and the world is hungry for a swift end to this conflict. No power in the world has been able to make it happen. But, with Donald J. Trump actively pursuing peace, there is hope that the war would end.
In cases like this, there are no guarantees. The human mind cannot be read, and it is hard to know what Vladimir Putin has in mind. Although Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine is not scheduled to be present in the upcoming meeting in Alaska, the same is true for him as well. That is, it is hard to know what is going on in Zelenskyy’s mind. Of course, we must remember President Zelenskyy’s visit to the White House in February, during which he acted very rudely in front of the media. Going forward, Zelenskyy must act reasonably, so that a resolution can be reached.
We know that President Trump has dealt with many foreign leaders, and he knows how to handle tough situations in international negotiations.
The longer the war continues, the greater the loss of lives will be. Hence, it is in both Russia’s and Ukraine’s best interest to end this war. I am confident that President Trump can make that happen.
