It is my understanding that human beings do not tend to speak about their suffering. However, that is changing, as it should. We must be vocal, so we do not suffer alone.
There is pain and suffering all around us. Economic uncertainty, toxic environment, growing social unrest, and global turmoil—all of these affect us.
As hard-working Americans return home from work, they struggle to put food on the dinner table. People are anxious about their financial future.
When at the grocery store, many consumers quickly realize that they are exceeding their budgets to purchase the necessities. They get worried about how to make ends meet.
When an illness strikes, many Americans hesitate to seek medical care, because they are afraid of medical bills.
When cars needs repairs, many Americans quickly realize that they have no money for the required expenses.
For the younger generation, buying a house has become impossible, because of rising interest rates.
For the senior citizens, paying for home repairs is impossible, as they continue to see the value of their savings fall.
Globally, there are rising military conflicts. Diplomatic tensions are resulting in disruptions in international trade. Social unrest, in many parts of the world, is causing pain and suffering. The crises, both international and domestic, are affecting people’s health, safety, well-being, and lifestyle.
Americans’ lives are impacted by policies and politics, and crime and war. Should people suffer silently, as they struggle to make ends meet?
People must speak up. They must talk about the challenges they face. They must share their stories of hunger and starvation, and they must discuss how they cannot keep up with the increase in their daily expenses, because of stagnant incomes. Americans must not stay silent if they are being treated unfairly. Hard-working people must not keep their mouths shut if they are being deprived of the fruits of their labor. Americans must also speak up against the misuse of their tax dollars.
People must speak up. Use social media to share your thoughts. Write a blog to talk about your experiences during this time of economic uncertainty. Be a vlogger to express your concerns about the domestic and global socio-economic trends. Start a podcast to spread your message to the world. Write letters to the editors of newspapers to describe the challenges you are facing at a time of global unrest. It is only when people start speaking up that changes will take place. Fairness, justice, economic stability, and peace must be achieved. And for that, people must speak up.
To stay silent is to continue being a victim. It is time to exercise the First Amendment right to free speech to talk about the pain and suffering people face, every day.
