A feeling of dissatisfaction, combined with a deep sense of gratitude, is a gift that serves a person well.
Without a lack of satisfaction, determination is impossible. Without a sense of gratitude, achievement would be beyond one’s reach.
No matter who we are and what our background may be, we always lack something that we feel could be a part of us. An air of insufficiency surrounds us.
As much as I love music, I do not know how to play a musical instrument. I tried to learn to play a stringed instrument once but could not be successful in my endeavors. I feel I should have been able to master the art of playing a musical instrument, but I never did.
The dissatisfaction and the realization of the limitations of a person’s ability, whether in matters of art or otherwise, can be eye-opening. The realization of my lack of ability to play a musical instrument opened my eyes to the strengths I have–the ability to write being one of them. With time, I became a determined writer. Furthermore, I developed a sense of gratitude about being able to write in a variety of forms and structures.
With my God-given ability to write, I can create a universe of stories and poems. Through my writing, I can respond to all that are happening around me. Through my writing, I can propose ideas, share thoughts, and much more. Through my words, I can create a world of music for the readers.
While I never experienced the satisfaction of skillfully playing a musical instrument, I did enjoy mastering the ability to write. Writing helps me pursue all that God has in store for me. I feel a strong and lasting sense of gratitude.
