The beautiful weather and scenic beauty draw people towards California. However, the rise in crime is a major reason why people are now leaving the Golden State. Public safety must be a top priority for elected officials in California, to prevent the mass exodus of the state’s residents.
Reportedly, in 2021, homicides and violent crime increased in California. Private property was under attack as smash-and-grab crimes hurt businesses. Earlier this year, there were also disturbing news reports about thieves looting trains in California.
America is the land of opportunity. With creativity and hard-work, people are able to achieve prosperity. Individuals succeed and boost their incomes. When businesses experience growing revenues and profits, they can expand their operations and create more employment opportunities. When people are able to enjoy economic success, the country as a whole becomes more prosperous.
A key ingredient for success is public safety. When American workers know that the communities in which they live and work are safe, they can focus on their work. When there is a lack of public safety, Americans feel threatened. If crime is rampant, people may seek to move to a safer place, as in the case of some Bay Area laundromat owners who moved to Alabama after leaving California.
The elected officials in California must take major steps to address the problem of rising crime. Otherwise, more and more people will leave the state and move to other places around the country in search of safer communities.
