Time neither pauses, nor stops. As I looked at my watch, I saw the ticking of the second hand. The movement of time, as we know it, is irreversible. We can track it, but we cannot change how it flows.
As humans, we are confronted with the limitations that time has set for us. And yet, it is through the passage of time that we seek freedom and try to live a life of purpose.
In ancient mythology and astrology, time is associated with Kronos. Kronos gives gifts to those who deserve. However, his strict nature must not be overlooked. Kronos sets limitations in our lives and put us through difficult tests.
Time, as we experience it, is also unforgiving. However, the flow of time is also marked by righteousness. Time delivers fairness and justice, while also healing wounds.
As I stare at my watch, I realize that the quota of time is slowly being depleted. Each moment is precious and must be used wisely. A minute wasted is a minute lost from the time that God has allotted for us.
We have no control over time, but we can embrace it and use each moment to live a meaningful life.
