Space exploration is about to get a whole lot more exciting!
Not long after SpaceX partnered with NASA to successfully send two American astronauts to out in space and to the International Space Station, Elon Musk is reportedly telling thousands of the company’s employees that SpaceX would focus on Starship as its main goal.
Starship is a rocket designed to land on the Moon and also is intended to transport people to Mars.
It has been over 50 years since the Apollo 11 mission to the Moon. Now, President Donald Trump wants to see Americans go back to the Moon, and also visit Mars.
Mars has been the subject of great fascination for a very long time. Filmmakers and writers have used their imagination about Mars to create works of art. In fact, the movie The Martian shows how a botanist named Mark Watney (a fictional character played by Matt Damon) struggles to survive on Mars after being stranded on the planet.
With news reports about Elon Musk’s message to SpaceX employees regarding the focus on Starship, it is clear that there would be vigorous efforts to make Mars landing a reality soon. Well, by soon, I mean it would still probably be a few years, because of the nature of space exploration. There are lots of scientific calculations involved, to say the least, as well as many intricate details that would go into creating a spacecraft that would take human beings to the red planet.
With the historic launch of the SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft last month, in addition to many other manned and unmanned space missions in the past, people are excited to see America make more progress in exploring our universe.
I am confident that we will soon reach newer milestones in space exploration, including a manned voyage to Mars.
