BEST WISHES TO THE NEW STUDENTS

The transition from the end of summer to the beginning of fall is a special time, as thousands of students move into the dorms to start the new semester at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. I wish all these students the very best in their academic journey. Many of the students are freshmen. And others are students returning to continue their pursuit of prestigious degrees at one of the best public universities in the country.
I remember when I was an undergraduate student at UW – Madison. The classes that I took and the education that I received helped me learn more about the world and gave me a better understanding of the direction to pursue in life. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, I successfully pursued a Master of Public Affairs degree.
Madison is my home. It is a city that I deeply love. And every fall, it is wonderful to see the energy and enthusiasm in the city when all these students arrive on campus for the beginning of a new school year.
Very soon, the classes will start, and so will the assignments and the exams. The students must make the best use of the time and the resources being invested in the pursuit of education and academic degrees. The future of our country (and also the future of the world) depends on the hard work of the students.
I hope that this school year is going to be a very productive one. May God bless those who pursue knowledge. I wish the students all the very best.
