The freedom of religion is included in the Bill of Rights, and people in America can practice any religion or not practice a religion. The freedom of religion is what helps America become more diverse.
Conflicts, due to religious differences, occur in many parts of the world. In various places around the globe, there are reports of people being mistreated, attacked, or killed because of their faith. There are ongoing efforts to prevent religious persecution.
Here in the United States, people have religious freedom. Regardless of what faith people belong to, they are free to engage in religious practices. In America, people can go to churches, mosques, synagogues, temples, and other places of worship freely. They can observe religious holidays and celebrate holy occasions, without any fear. Such freedom attracts more and more people to the United States, where they can live peacefully alongside others from a wide variety of religious backgrounds.
This month, as a Muslim, I observed Eid-ul-Azha. This is a major religious occasion for Muslims all over the world. Eid Day brought together Muslims in various communities across the United States. Followers of other religions also extended their heartfelt wishes to Muslims during Eid celebration. Such greetings create a welcoming environment for all people.
Reportedly, about 158 million adults from all over the world would like to make the United States their home. I believe that people wish to move to America because of the freedom in our country. Freedom (including religious freedom) makes success and happiness possible. Without freedom, members of a society can never have economic prosperity and spiritual fulfillment.
Growing diversity of America’s population depends on religious freedom. In the United States, we must always protect and preserve our freedom.
